I thought I was banned

I wasn't. For some reason I was just unable to read and participate in any posts. I couldn't even find my name in the member list. That's when I told my wife, I think I'm banned. I couldn't email anybody through the board either except the web master. I guess it was just a problem with the web site.

I was simply loving your setup until I came across the name SONY... What are you thinking. Sony, although a great reciever for the lame person, not in the same league as Klipsch. And really doesn't belong in the fine hands of a Klipsch owner like yourself. I suggest maybe a Denon or Onkyo, even an H/K.

I have a STR-DE945 on my Reference speakers and it sounds great. I'm not even in a hurry to get a sub because of the LFs I'm getting. I've read about the STR-DB series and they sound even nicer. And good comments about the Sony ES series, too. Of course, I have heard complaints about bass drive on the lower numbered models, as expected.

Where other people hear "harsh," I hear "crystal clear." You aren't going to muddy up my ears. I just ignore all the "tubes sound better" and "spend lots of $$$" posts.

yea the sony actually sounds pretty ok w/ the new efficient klf. though I am eyeing that marantz sr8000 or a denon to pick up some additional current & stuff.

the sony came long (about 1 yr) before the klf, so u know...live & learn biggrin.gif

tgourlie, come by my house and I will let you hear what a Sony reciever is capable of.Of course it is not one of those shiny new $300 jobs like you've probably heard.I bought it about seven years ago and it just won't quit.

Do not pass the Marantz SR8000 over for anything less than $1,500. To me, it can't be beat for anywhere between $950 and $1,299 depending where you buy. Audition head to head as I did and close your eyes and don't let big marketing suck you in.

My Main system:

KLF-30's

KLF-C7

KSp-S6's

KSw-15 Front Sub

KSW-100 Rear sub

Marantz SR-8000

Toshiba SD-4205 5-dvd changer

Pioneer 301 CD changer

Sony 35"

Monster Cables 14 Gauge

Audioquest interconnects

Joe, STR-GX900ES.Pro-logic.Bought it January 1995.Has swictch feature to route rear signal

thru front left/right amps(100WPC).Using three front preouts to Acurus 100X3 amp.And the silence is golden.Don't give a crap about

HT.Music is where its at for me.Would like to

have a Denon 3801 just for the 7-channel stereo. Then maybe an Acurus 125X5 or an Outlaw 165X5 amp to go with the reciever.Don't like the chincy warranty with the Denon.Of course you can use the top to fry eggs if you needed to. smile.gif
