Cha Ching Ching. So where is she? You all know the story on this LP, the Trinity Sessions, an LP regarded by many, many Forum members as one of their top favorites for sound, recording quality, etc., etc, The band is in Trinity Church to record an entire LP in one day. They are set up in a circle surrounding one microphone, which is seen in that photo just left of the accordionist. So you say, "Travis that is one of my all time favorite albums and I know for a fact it is in stereo, so how do they do that with one microphone?" Well that is what why this LP is a reference for many, many audiophiles. That microphone is a Calrec Soundfield microphone. It is quadraphonic and is designed to be sensitive in a cloverleaf pattern. The sound was "mixed" physical placement of musicians in relationship to the microphone. So, I say again, where is Margo? What kind of Klipsch speakers is seen in that photo? haydukej
I've had this album in my collection for a good 12 years now. Always liked it, but never knew the "how" story of it until just now. Very cool. I shall have to bring it up to the front of the listening cue. Thanks for the post.
