sean5340
My kids reclaimed my portable speaker and I'm going out of town. Made a trip into the attic and Radio Shack saved the day! Sounds way better than any portable I have heard.
Mighty Favog
Well, I miss what they used to be. I had no problem about NOT going in there and immediately being offered the sales pitch to buy a cell phone. Locally, the closest place we have is Parts Express in Springboro, OH.
Tarheel
Had a pair of Nova 8 speakers once. Can't recall how they sounded.
Mallette
LX-5's were one of the best speakers ever for the money. Still have and am using a pair at my computer. Excellent near field listening. Noticed one store still open up in Rogers, AR. Wish we had one here but I rather doubt those remaining are anything but shadows of the former "you'll find it here" Rat Shacks. mike stehr
All of Radio Shacks are officially gone in Washington State. Those parts bins were kind of convenient when you wanted a couple few things right now.
DizRotus
Those weekend projects that prompted a quick trip to RS for the odd resistor, switch, etc., are over. Now you either plan ahead better or put the project on hold until, Mouser, Parts Express, Amazon, etc., can send you the required bit. I was just discussing this with the iceman, I mean milkman, I mean paperboy, I mean . . . . .

Mallette
Had to replace a mid/woof in one of mine, but it's easy...same as Bose 901 and you get to save a fine driver from a life in hell. Dave
wuzzzer
I think there's still one around me (central MN). Last I was there was after I bought my subs and one had a broken input terminal. Radio Shack had a wall plate on clearance for like $5 and I just harvested the terminals from it and was able to do a same day repair. YK Thom
I miss it as well. In Canada they were all transformed into The Source years ago. Not even remotely similar, pretty much a cell phone and accessory store.
Bigdnfay1
Had 5 in my town. Slowly closed them 1 at a time until no more. I love the minimus-7's. I've picked up 3 pairs over the years. A pair and a sub will do in a pinch.

That was my immediate thought when I seen the thread title, not only the sales pitch but half the stores floor space and inventory gone to make room for cell phones.. JJkizak
They are all closed around here so I switched to Amazon which by the way has a very large selection if your willing to page through thousands of items. JJK
Ceptorman
Their website shows one about 45 minutes from me, in Rushville Indiana, none in Indianapolis.
Davis
my son needed a headphone adapter and that is where he wanted to go find one. Looked it up on my phone and all the Anderson stores were labeled permanently closed with that Rushville store being my closet one as well. Moderators dtel Posted December 29, 2017 Moderators Share Posted December 29, 2017 Might as well close, they are just a cell phone store now.
