RyanD
Hi all. I am really excited to start building my Klipsch home theatre. I have had the same home theatre setup for almost 20 years consisting of Paradigm monitor 90Ps, CC-350 centre and rear titans along with an Yamaha RXV-2400. I have never heard Klipsch but I am a hard rock fan and love movies and tv and from what I have read Klipsch is amazing for this. I don't have a dealer near me so I will have to order online and listen in my home. I am going to start with a centre channel and build as time goes on and I convince my wife that this is all very necessary! Couple of questions I would love some input on below. I have quite a large living room and only a half wall between it and the kitchen. I would approximate that between the kitchen and living room it's 700 square feet. It's all hardwood and vaulted ceilings. 1. Should I go with the 440C or 450C? 2. Are both of these able to support my 55 inch Panasonic plasma sitting on top of it? I would also like some feedback from anyone who owns either of these? Are you excited every time you sit down to enjoy them? Thanks and can't wait to get started building. The History Kid
If you're torn between the 440 and 450 - and haven't purchased yet, the logical thing to do is the 450. If your budget allows, you should get the best center channel your money can buy. I might even encourage you to wait on the RC-64 III, which would be even better than the 450. Any of these should support your TV.
Paducah Home Theater
450C is the only way to fly unless you are stuffing it in an entertainment center and don't have room. Assuming you'll end up with reference premier mains at least. If you think you can afford it at all get the RC-64III with the idea that you'll end up with the RF-7III. RyanD
Thanks for your reply. I am thinking about just taking the plunge and ordering the whole package. Below is the package Klipsch has put together. If I wanted to save $500 would I be better going with lower priced fronts or surrounds? Any recommendations on what speakers may still be a good fit with the 450C? I am excited to half a 15" sub as it will remind me of my teenage years with two 15" Dr. Crankensteins in my trunk (2) RP-280F, (1) RP-450C, (2) RP-250S, (1) R-115SW

In Canada the RC 64III is around $2000 so out of my range unfortunately. Hopefully the 450C still is a large upgrade over what I have now. Klipsch titanium diaphragm horns make for an incredibly life-like centre channel speaker. I'm looking to upgrade my CC-350 as well with a better timbre match to my RF-82ii mains. However, I haven't seen any good sales on either the RP-440C or RP-450C in Canada. Where in Canada have you been looking RyanD? Until a good deal comes around, I can make do, as my Yamaha receiver has centre-channel-equalization for timbre matching...

Locally owned and very friendly and knowledgeable. I paid $799 CAD. mike@extremeelectronics.ca
