tigerwoodKhorns
I had L60T's, L100T's, L100 century and still have LX55s (as well as a pair of 2600's that I bought new in 1989). Not very detailed but each a nice speaker I'd describe as "fun." They work well for poor recordings and make it all kind of nice to listen to. Not a knock on the speakers, just my experience. Most that size were considered bookshelf speakers. My 4311s used to sit in bookcases on each side of a fireplace in my first house. Which is about the same height they would have been in a studio. Sounded great, aldeit with no horns.
garyrc
If JBL is on the Vintage wagon now, I hope they start making the midrange horn-lens L5090 with 375 driver. Properly balanced, it had the clearest midrange I've ever heard, and was reasonably flat. I've always wondered what a Klipschorn bass bin with this assembly for midrange, and a truly good supertweeter, complete with red cape, would sound like. It would even pass as an art object. How did Andy Warhol miss this one? I did see it in an art gallery once, in a Hartsfield. It fit right in.
