Steady rhythmic thumping from a ProMedia 2.1 BT subwoofer

Good Evening,

I recently purchased a ProMedia 2.1 BT computer speaker system direct from Klipsch and I noticed almost immediately that the sub-woofer has a constant, steady, rhythmic thump approximately 1 second apart regardless of if sound is playing through the system or not.  I have gone to the troubleshooting website and uninstalled and reinstalled my audio drivers (as recommended), as well as turning off all digital outputs (as recommended).  I have also plugged the unit into multiple power outlets, with both power-filtering/regulating line protectors and directly into the wall outlets.  The only time the thumping goes away is when I unhook the pre-amp control cable from the control unit to the sub-woofer.

I am presuming that I have a bad control module but I was just curious if anyone else has had this type of issue. I have also submitted a trouble ticket to Klipsch directly.

Thank you in advance for you help!

Did you ever know what was wrong with it? My promedia 2.1 v3 (I think) non BT version just started to have this same rhythmic click about every second. It's like a metronome. It's driving me crazy. It's been 4 years now so warranty is gone.

Heartbeat of the Ghost In The Machine? ;-)
