jtubbs6117
Would soneone please give me a basic understanding of how this works and application? I also looking to purchase a sub setup in the summer maybe earlier SI has their 24inch IB for 699.99 seems like a deal but I am not sure how this subwoofer setup works. Considering what I have read and how people take about how amazing the sound is I need to know. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
jason str
Works just like the old 6x9" rear deck speakers used in cars for decades, you have probably heard them many times and did not even know it.

The back of the drivers is open to the attic. Ideally the rear of the drivers needs to be in an ares at least 10 times the total Vas for all your drivers combined. The attic is much larger than that. dtr20
Is it just a normal subwoofer driver for this or do you need a special open air driver?

It has to have a lot of x-max as there's no box to protect the driver. You also need multiples to achieve the same level you would with half as many drivers in a ported box. Companies like Ficaraudio make drivers specifically for IB use.
