Okay, a crazy amount of money into these Type A’s.

(x2) 2.2uF Jupiter  2.2uF copper foil capacitors = $300.00

(x2) 12uf Jupiter capacitors = $270.00

(x2) Werner C-core Autotransformers = $275.00

(x2) Goertz Alpha Core low pass coils = $155.00

Wood, small parts and wire = $25.00

Things are sounding very good. Are they sounding $1000 good?  I don’t know yet. That’s a lot of money!

Listening to the Moody Blues right now. No grain or glare - but I’m pretty sure I can pull that off with a lot less money.

OK, as soon as you have that figured out please provide the schematic and the parts list… LOL

Diminishing returns.

I don’t think the Werner C-core autotransformer is worth the money - the 3670 is just as good.

The Jupiter copper foil cap is overrated.

It sounds great - but I can get this sound for half the money.

The Goertz Alpha-Core Copper Foils are awesome. I’ve always been in denial about these things, but I keep going back to them - because all of the bass lines are right out front.

I’ve compared to my standard build, which uses Audyn Plus capacitors and ERSE Super Q low pass coils - this build is phenomenal -

Dean, my La Scalas could use an upgrade from the AA I bought from you a few years ago should you decide those are too much money.....

Mark

Already asked... ;)

D... did you attenuate any driver in this build beyond OEM settings?

Van Halen - first recording.

These networks need a few hours.

35 wpc of KT-88 Ultralinear. This integrated has a real preamp section - with a very nice stepped attenuator.

“Little Dreamer”, sounds awesome. One notch on the attenuator at 11:37 PM.

@mike stehr where are you?

It’s just a Klipsch Type A!

I sit close. Late at night - where the noise floor is lowest.

Metallica. Black.

Daddy Dee is gone - but I’m sure he remembers how I lit up his room with this recording (Quad II forty).
