wuzzzer
Currently running RB-5s as side surrounds. They are great. Do you think RS-52s would perform better as surrounds? Obviously the RS series intended purpose is as a surround speaker. Due to my room layout they're positioned about 2.5 feet beside/behind my couch. No room for the RBs as rear surrounds otherwise I'd put the RB behind me and RS on the side. It's one or the other.
Moderators Youthman Posted February 15, 2018 Moderators Share Posted February 15, 2018 I'm definitely a fan of wide dispersion for side surrounds. Surround backs can go either way. Just my opinion. 1
RoboKlipsch
At a close distance the rs series will perform better by helping disperse the high frequencies. Both work but a direct monopole is harder to manage up close and imo only should be done by placing them up at least a foot above ear level. At 2.5 feet and with depth close to a foot that driver is right in your head!
