All work as they should come with good tubes and I have a set of (16) spare / new 6C19pi tubes as well. Preferences are personal and differ from person to person, but I can honestly say I've had several coveted amps / preamps and these sound better than any of them to me with Klipschorns. Star Chief 45's, McIntosh 240's, Heathkit UA-2's, Carver, VRD's, etc. These were the best and also some of the most reasonable priced in my opinion. If you have Khorns and want to try something new or your first set of tube amps; it would be worth your while to try these out. They are fast, and don't get in the way of the music.
