I do agree that it'd be easier, as a Buyer, to delve deeper or simply dismiss these tidbits IF prices were clearly stated.

Smells like a PM auction, but could also be a means to "use" the forum knowledge and interest level as an appraisal service.

Whatever works for the parties involved, but in the past prices were mandatory here.
