dwillie
So, I have a pre amp that has two pre outs. As I am using it now, one pre out goes directly to an amp and then on to the speakers. No surprises there. But..., I would like to use the pre amp in the way I just described, and at the same time, use the second pre out to send a separate but identical signal to another pre amp. This signal would then be amplified and sent to speakers in a different room. I have never done this so I'm asking if there will be any problems I am not aware of. Thanks for your opinions. d. JohnA
Probably not, and while the 2nd preamp is likely not needed, it gives you an independent volume control for "Zone 2". Things to look for: You will be running your main preamp into 2 loads. Like parallel speakers, parallel loads on the preamp look like a single amp with a lower input impedance. You *might* get reduced output or distortion you didn't have before. I can't imagine your experiment causing any damage to any component, so, give it a try!
