I26
I have been running a 4.2 setup for about 2 years. i have them connected to a Soundblaster Live! X-Gamer. I recently took a trip to the local Tweeter and noticed how good the surround sound setups sounded that they had setup. I just don't think my 4.2s are surround sound capable. I don't get that "bullet flying from one corner of the room to the other" effect. I want to hear stuff spinning around the room and I am not getting that. Is this system capable or do I need to replace some stuff (ex: soundcard, speakers, etc..)????? I wonder if i should have bought the 4.1s and connected them to the digi. port on the card. I think that is the only way to go. Am i wrong? Help me out here....Thanx in advance!!!
justin_tx_16
yes, you are wrong you hve surround sound, and if you connected them in a 4.1 fashion, then you ARE getting 4.1 surround sound. you may not have them placed correctly. you will only get that effeft when you select dvd's to play 4.1 and with games that are surround sound. you ARE getting 4 channels of distinct sound. I26
Ok.....i gotta ya so far. Now the thing is I only see DVDs in 5.1 modes. What do I do for that? Will I have no surround at all while playing them?
justin_tx_16
a 5.1 dvd is fine, just you have to tell the dvd software do to 4.1 or quadraphonic.
rol1
If your dvd player software supports multi-channel. Most OEM vers. do stereo down-mix.
