SOLD... Pending delivery.

For Sale are my amazing Cornscala speakers.
Asking $2250cnd... Reduced, now asking $2000cnd.

Back in 2012, after reading a ton of Cornscala build threads I sort of had an idea of what I was after but things evolve as you go along.
My Cornscala build would follow Bob Crites’s "C Style" recipe.
https://critesspeakers.com/cornscala-style-c.html

Tweeked a bit from Bob's plan, I changed or added:

1" Baltic Birch, instead of 3/4'.
With the front baffle, bottom, and back getting an additional 3/4”, making a 1.75” total.
Horizontal window brace centered between the woofer and midrange that also supports the midrange driver.
"T" brace across the inside of the tops.
I adjusted the cabinet size to ensure that I maintained the proper internal volume.
Dimensions with 2.5” risers are: 38”H x 25.75”W x 17.5”D.

I had planned on using Bob's Xover, but ALK Engineering was just about to release their CornScala-Wall economy Universal and after
speaking with AL I was lucky enough to get one of his very first pair.
Al also suggested that the B&C DE85TN instead of the Selenium D405.
http://alkeng.com

Since Al was not that familiar with Bob's M2380 midrange horns and how they would react with the DE85TN and
the CornScala-Wall Xover, I sent one of my M2380s to Al for testing.
End result was that Al thought this combo tested VERY well.

The following components are used:

Pair of Selenium D220TI Drivers.
Pair of Selenium HM 11-25 Horns.
Pair of Selenium B&C DE85TN midrange drivers.
Pair of M2380 horns.
Pair of midrange horn/driver support brackets and pair of 2 inch gaskets.
Pair of CW1526CF woofers.
Pair of ALK Engineering CornScala-Wall Economy Universal Crossovers.
2 yards of Crites Klipsch style Grill Cloth.

1: 4’x8’ 1 inch Baltic Birch
1: 4’x8’ .75 inch Baltic Birch
Shop supplies, misc

I am very happy with the way they turned out and feel that they are as good, if not better sounding than any of
the "real Klipsch" that I have had in the house.
I maybe a little biased because I built them, but a few of my HiFi buddies also think these Cornscalas play music
nicer than even my previous KHorns.

Auditions are more than welcome and can be heard via higher powered SS (Classe CA-150) or
low powered SET tubes (Triode Labs, 2A3).
At approx. 103db efficiency, almost any amp will make these babies sing!

Thanks for looking.

I was wondering why you are getting rid of them if they sound so great then in your 4th picture I see the replacements. Great job on your build. If I did already have LaScala's I would build something similar myself but the cost to build a pair would be close to your selling price. Great deal for someone close to you.

Sooo tempting. I am in Ottawa and still have a home in Leaside which I visit regularly. I have my heart set on a new pair of Forte III’s.

The new Forte IIIs are suppose to be a nice speaker, although I have not heard them yet.

I will say, I previously had a very nice pair of Chorus IIs that did not really measure up to my Cornscalas.

If you are down to Leaside, you would be welcome to drop up to Newmarket for a listen, with either hi powered SS (Classe CA-150) or

lo powered tubes (Triode Labs, 2A3 SET).

With as scarce as used Klipsch are over there I would have thought someone would have grabbed these a long time ago. Then again, most are broke over there too so that plays into it....lol.

Good luck with your sale!

Ship them. Throw them on a pallet and they would have sold quickly

Ya, as I mentioned in our PM, I have had about 5 long distance parties wanting to purchase them if I was wanting to ship.

I am still hoping to find someone with in driving distance to take them.

I would not even mind meeting somebody that was say 10 hours away at a halfway point which would cut their travel time in half.

quick question , how  expensive was it for  you to build these cabs in the cost of the materials -I was wanting to evaluate what it costs to build a pair , did you cut it yourself out of plywood or did you get it cut at a shop  --any feedback is appreciated - tx
