Cut on woofer - Anything I can do?

Recommended Posts

So, we got a new cat, (A home theater's mortal enemy I suppose)  and he got his claw in the woofer, leaving a cut.

I'm wondering if there's any way I can mitigate the damage?  Or what the appropriate thing is to do here so it doesn't worsen over time?

Any ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks!

I would put a tiny drop of clear nail polish . . . on the cut, not the cat. 😉  Ideally you could take out the woofer and do it from the back, but just from the front should do the trick.

I have a svs 12 sub and have a 4” rip in the cone. So I used super glue on the front and back of the cone and it’s been working for 6 months or so. No pretty but works for me

I’d like to hear from Dennis, @djk, and Bob, @BEC, on this.  They know more about such things than most mere mortals.
