ousinewave
What model is this vintage Klipsch? I got them yesterday. It looks like Heresy but have bass port at the bottom. The cabinet is a little bit bigger than heresy. The paper that inform the model is gone. It also has switch to cut off mid & hi at the back. Anybody know the name of this model? Thank you very much. jjptkd
They look similar to the Heresy HIP (Heresy Industrial Ported) but the woofer and woofer placement is wrong, so is the back panel and the port appears to be too large but its hard to tell for sure. I'd remove the back panels and look at the crossovers and drivers used, may give you some clues.
baron167
Will be interesting if there are some form of "folds" inside directed at the port.
Frzninvt
Those look like DIY modded Heresy I's. The woofers are not original and they should be mounted from the back and not to the front of the motorboard.
JohnA
If it is a Klipsch at all, it is a modified Heresy, with a different woofer and a slot port. Show us pics of the innards. What is the crossover "Type"?
pzannucci
Possibly modified Heresy (HIP) but the woofer is mounted in the front (non-Klipsch woofer), from the picture pots in the back, and the screws in the back are wrong for H1s.
DizRotus
I’d really like to see inside.
pzannucci
The woofer was put in as an afterthought. When speakers like this were done in the 70's and rear baffle mounted, they were all rear baffle mounted, not just the horns. The woofer was added later because the woofer must have been blown. wuzzzer
Why do you think they are Klipsch?
