001
what in the heck? https://www.ebay.com/itm/132600542599?_trksid=p11021.c100851.m5053&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170803121420%26meid%3D2399f5b566184601ae39a2576a37b23e%26pid%3D100851%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26b%3D1%26sd%3D163064041866%26itm%3D132600542599&ul_noapp=true
DizRotus
Not something you see everyday. Interesting, but I’m not the least bit interested.
haydukej
Wonder why only one of the bass bins is rotated? Would that provide the ultimate in coverage for a listening room😀
geoff.
Saw these last week too. From what I have gathered on the forums, the “flexing” sidewall issue is reduced by rotating the horn. My OCD would not allow me to even contemplate listening to these. Ahhhh! The image is burning into my retinas! Make it stop!
Coytee
I wonder if they're actually two piece construction and theyt simply have one bin rotated inside that "frame" that they seem to have holding everything together?? The hatch would have to be on the side for one of them and on the bottom for the other. If they put that frame around them then they can hide all that mess. Sure can be interesting to see what people come up with over the years/decades of items being built (like those classy decorators that evidently slide into some kind of frame as well)
Schu
That right one might be a great center channel...
dirtmudd
The right one might be a early la scala...

dtr20
Early la scalas had the doghouse horizontally instead of vertical. I'm not sure if the above is original or a modification
SiliconTi
Although the originals were "flipped", they did not look like that. Looks like an experiment that either failed or was too hard to replicate a second time.
dirtmudd
it is a original la scala... Just look at the pics on ebay. one has a round magnet k77 the other square... then the networks.. it looks like their both speakers are in a wooden box ... JohnA
E code is 1967. Square magnet tweeter is either a replacement, or from late '79-'80. Does the HF section of the Horizontal doghouse look cattywhompus?
