Coytee
I have been debating (low priority) on those 396's that were for sale to benefit the museum. Looked to see if they were still there, saw pictures. Zoomed in a bit and it looks to me that there are two Speakon (I presume) plugs on the back side. Since it's a 2-way, that got me wondering if it's going to be actively biamped or if there is in fact a passive in there (that the literature seems to suggest exists) ?? CECAA850
There's a passive inside. I use one amp for both speakers and all drivers produce sound. Mine are the II series and there's just 2 screw terminals on back though.
CECAA850
Literature shows the crossover frequency as well.
Coytee
Am I correct in what I (think) I saw on those? Do they have a speakon connector (two of them) in back or is that something else?
CECAA850
Can you post that picture? I can't seem to find it.

Coytee
Interesting.... I wonder if they have a passive (would make sense to me that if there are two Speakons for a 2-way system, each connector would have its own driver and no passive. jjptkd
I can't say for sure on those speakers but some of the older pro models had dual inputs for the purpose of daisy chaining multiple speakers together so both inputs are wired together inside and do the same thing, they are not meant for bi-amping. jjptkd
You can see the same thing on my KI-215 input cup, I added a single set of binding posts, I should point out that there was no internal crossover in these subs though.
