Kahless
Hello, I own an Onkyo stereo receiver the 8160 model. I recently ordered a pair of of Rp-160m speakers. I see the speakers are capable of bi-amplification. Does anyone know if the Only 8160 could have an additional amplifier added to it for the bi-amp? Apologies if I am not asking correctly as I am new to the idea of bi-amp. Thanks
willland
@Kahless, Welcome to the forum. Looking at the rear of the Onkyo, I see no preouts to ad an amp nor any other way to bi-amp. Just hook up the conventional way and enjoy. Bill
Kahless
Thanks! I wasn't sure of the Zone 2 would function like a normal pre amp or not.
The History Kid
I wouldn't worry about it. Those speakers won't really benefit much from passive bi-amplification. They'd probably sing if you did it actively, but that's more money than it's probably worth. Stick with the standard wiring, and you should love it.
