WTB ... K-510 horns w/drivers

Recommended Posts

Would like to get some K-510 horns with the B&C drivers ... :D

Have a set of KPT-904's and LOVE them ... primarily due to the K-510 horns.  Looking at building a smaller set (similar to the KPT's but closed; not ported) to save some space.  Found another set of KPT-904's (see my listing under "Garage Sale/Alerts), but too cheap to buy these as I believe (???) that I cannot use the woofers in a closed box.

Don't need any brackets ... gave "mine" away to a member 6 months ago :) Also, (sorry) have no clue what they would be worth to me :( as I am just "experimenting."

Many thanks, Emile

Having never bought any new ones...I don't know.

My understanding though is they're in the neighborhood of $750 each.  This includes driver.

The price might be way off base but the main point is, they're not $50 units

Oops ... Thanks!  Guess $1300 for a set of KPT-904's might be worth it ... just for the horns :D  OK; I'm cheap ... will offer the KPT guy $500 for the horns and see what happens :D

Haha ... NO ... of course.  Had no clue these things were impossible to find.  Tried @MetropolisLakeOutfitters, but no response.  OK; offering the FleaBay guy $750 :D

Tried to take a mini-vacation and got behind, sorry.

No problem ... we all need a "break."

No breaks for me, I still had to ship out 13 packages from a ranger station in a campground using my phone's internet connection, during a storm.  No rest for the weary.

Dont waste your time and money.  Not saying those aren't decent,  just not the same as a 510.  I tried a lot of different horns.  The k510 is one out of the two smaller horns i would use in a two way setup, the other is no longer available.  I have a set of those cheaper horns mentioned in the past that i will be using in a speaker build, but only as i am stuck with them and have some free Peavey Black Windows that need a home.

OK; looks like I may have a pair in a little over a week.  Want to try them just "by themselves."  So to avoid blowing up the diaphragms I need a high pass crossover. Any suggestions on xover frequency and db slope?  All I could find was a cheap 800Hz/12dB one at Parts-Express ...

Many thanks, Emile

add-on ...

Or ... could use my minidsp and buy another cheap amp ... recommended xover and slope?
