Do you recommend this setup for the $$?

I have a chance to get an all BRAND NEW setup including

(2) KF-28 Floorstanding Speakers - https://www.klipsch.com/products/kf-28-floorstanding-speaker

(2) KB-15 Bookshelf Speakers - https://www.klipsch.com/products/kb-15-bookshelf-speakers-pair

(1) KC-25 Center Speaker - https://www.klipsch.com/products/kc-25-center-speaker

for $500

Is this is good deal, a steal or should I avoid it?

If I do proceed with them, should I find a cheap set of the KS-14 to use for rears or just use the bookshelf's? https://www.klipsch.com/products/ks-14-surround-speaker-pair

Also, what sub and AV Receiver would you recommend to go with them?

I'm looking to upgrade my poor Yamaha surround. What AV would you recommend to power them?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum! I believe the Icon series is discontinued and was only available through Best Buy. Personally, I would skip this and look at the used market for a deal on speakers. The Icons are the base level Klipsch offering and do not hold their value at all in the used market if you ever want to upgrade. If you let us know your location, we can look up some local Craigslist deals and help you put a system together.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was wondering! However, I'm not concerned about them holding value but rather sounding decent. You said they're entry level, so maybe I should stay away.

I'm in the metro detroit area.

Thanks!

+ 1 to this statement.....don't rush into this....would be better off going with a used early reference system....maybe RF 3.

Well another thing popped up

2x   R-26F for $200

Good deal?

Obviously these will be standalone until I finish the 5.1 setup. Any recommendations on the other pieces if I go this route?

That is not a bad deal. The biggest factor will be how you want to use your setup. Is this going to be mostly for home theater or music or both? Do you listen to music in the background or do you like to sit down and really listen? Also, do you use your HT for gaming or more movies?

If you are more into music and some movies, I would go with a really good 2 channel setup. When I had my LaScalas set up with my TV I actually didnt miss surround sound at all because the detail and soundstage was so impressive. However, if you like video games having surround sound is a must in my opinion.
