dtr20
Has anybody had any experience with outlaw audio's subs? I know they are a very respected company. I was looking at 2 of their subs (12" and 13") and they claim to be able to get frequencies down into the teens with such a small driver. Just curious on your thoughts. http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/ultra13.html http://www.outlawaudio.com/products/ultra.html
MEH Synergy
No experience with their subs, but their amps I have used in the past with great value to performance ratios. They have my respect for solid value. I thought about trying their RR2160 integrated which seems to be well respected.
adam2434
I have had a LFM-1 (12") since 2005. The amp died last year and Outlaw fixed it for around $75...not bad. Last year, I also added the X-12 (12"), so am now running the LFM-1 and X-12 in a dual sub configuration in the basement mancave 5.1 system. I got the X-12 on sale for around $550 shipped. They run sales a few times a year. They are solid performers at their price point (especially when on sale), on par with similarly priced subs from other ID companies like Hsu and Rythmik, IMO. I've been happy with their performance with music and video content. Adding a second sub really improved the bass in this system.

dtr20
Would I be better off running something like this? I'm trying to get into the lower frequencies in my home theater. https://www.parts-express.com/passive-dayton-audio-reference-18-with-dual-passive-radiator-subwoofer-kit--300-7158
Shiva
I would look at subs from Powersoundaudio and Rythmik. Each have subs that are designed to get down into the teens and below, according to their designers. https://www.powersoundaudio.com/pages/subwoofers http://www.rythmikaudio.com

I am familiar with frequency response, but what is in room extension? Frequency Response 16Hz-200Hz +/-3dB In-Room Extension 11Hz-14Hz

Frequency Response 16Hz-200Hz +/-3dB In-Room Extension 11Hz-14Hz From what I have read, you have a given sub, tested in open space and it puts out its spec'd. frequency response. Then take the same sub and put it in an enclosed room and the bass response may be boosted in that smaller space and put out deeper stronger bass numbers, called in-room extension. Cool thing about both those companies is that if you call them up or email, you will more often than not, be talking to the owner/ designers. There are also pretty big threads devoted to them over at AVS sub forums.

I purchased the RR2160 several months ago because my Vintage SX-1250 was in the shop and I had also been hearing and reading good things about it. I have been amazed how good it sounds with both the Cornwalls I had at the time and the Forte III's I'm now using with it. Great sounding DAC and Phono Stage to my ears. I also like the look which others quibble about. The 1250 is back, but the Outlaw is still in use-though I have more than one system going. With their return policy it is easy to try out.
MEH Synergy
Yeah. I bought an RR2160 and they shipped me the wrong unit entirely haha. I got frustrated after waiting and sent it back of course. Never did get to hear it. Vintage silver isn't my cup of tea either....
