tigerwoodKhorns
OK, I finally found a projector that will work in my room. The BenQ3050 looks like it will fit the bill and project a 120" picture from 10 feet away. Now I need a screen. Anyone using an elite screen spectrum? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000Q87LM6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=A2Y6W3HCBAQSKV&psc=1 The elite VMax2 is supposed to be better. Is it worth the extra $150? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0007YN2YK/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1#customerReviews Thanks. tigerwoodKhorns
No screen recommendations? 16x9 120" to 125"?
Kman
maybe check over at AVS forum. personally I don't know much about Elite but see the name a lot over there. would think you would want a tab- tensioned motorized to keep the screen tight and without wrinkles and stuff. Personally I own a fixed stewart screen. I've been very happy with it.
wvu80
@Youthman has had a couple of screens. Hopefully he will see the Notification and weigh in with an opinion.

tigerwoodKhorns
I would love to have a fixed screen, but I must use a drop down screen. I'll check AVS and maybe Youthman will chime in.
cgolf70
No screen here with our BenQ projector. Painted the wall with SW base white paint. Excellent results but our room is windowless too.
tigerwoodKhorns
I must have a drop down screen. It will be in front of a fireplace and TV so there is no option to paint a wall or use a fixed screen.
On The Beach
With short throw projectors, it’s very important to have a flat screen. An untensioned pull down screen with ripples will be out of focus/soft in certain areas.
TasDom
I bought mine thru Visual Apex. It's a 120" electric drop down and came with a wireless trigger that plugs into the projector, wall and ceiling brackets. It was branded under the Visual Apex name but I think it's manufactured by Elite. Has worked great and their customer support is great to work with. Talked to a tech live a few times and he helped with tension adjustments. http://www.visualapex.com/Projector-Screens/Screen-details.asp?Product_ID=30&AR=HT&Category=

The Visual Apex screens are non-motorized. 22 hours ago, On The Beach said: With short throw projectors, it’s very important to have a flat screen. I was looking at the 2050ST and then found the 3050 which did not have the "st" designation so I figured it was not a short throw model.
