Promedia 2.1 Question

Hey everyone! I have had the klipsch promedia 2.1 system for my computer for a while. I found a pair of bookshelf speakers and was wondering if I can simply plug those speakers into the powered sub that comes with the promedia 2.1 instead of the speakers it came with. Would this work or cause damage?

It is a bit strange that there is not more information on the forum about these systems.  In an abundance of caution I'll say I don't know.  Part of the problem is that if the bookshelf speakers have a low (4 ohm) impedance there could well be problems.
