Sara@540
Hi everyone, we just moved into our new house and much to our surprise the prior owners left their surround sound speakers. We have 5 and tons of strand plug ins. Would these plugs go into the tv somehow or do we need to get a receiver? I have no clue what to do here. Any suggestions? willland
@Sara@540, Welcome to the forum. Awfully nice of the previous owners. From what I can see, you have there a few sets of speaker wires with banana plug connectors, a gray RCA(could be subwoofer cable) or coax cable, and what looks like a LED light strip. 5 minutes ago, Sara@540 said: Would these plugs go into the tv somehow or do we need to get a receiver? They would plug into an AVR or some type of AV processor and not directly to the TV. Maybe a forum member or members that lives nearby could assist you or point you in the right direction. ssh
I'd ask the previous owner. SSH
Moderators Travis In Austin Posted September 23, 2018 Moderators Share Posted September 23, 2018 Can you take photos of speakers they left and location. Should be a left center and right front speaker, and two or three in the rear.
Peter P.
You will have to buy an A/V (Audio/Video) receiver. Those "strands" in the photo connect to the speaker outputs of the A/V receiver. Elsewhere in the room are the other end of those connections, to connect to your speakers. The photo is blurry, but it looks like your cable TV/satellite TV connections, and possibly your subwoofer connection, are there as well. All these connections will connect to the A/V receiver you purchase. Feel free to ask the forum other questions. 5 hours ago, Sara@540 said: Quote
