I think one my next upgrades will be to replace all my speaker wires with something like AudioQuest Type 4 with Star-Quad Geometry wiring, similar to what is installed in the new Heritage speakers. I used to think that speaker wire just needed to have minimal resistance, but further studies show that there is a difference in wires, and that Klipsch has made a good choice.

So is Klipsch using AudioQuest wiring now?

I remember back in 1981 when I got my first pair of La Scalas (Brand New), i removed all the wiring and replaced it with 12 gauge Monster Cable and we def heard a difference. I believe that wires can make a difference, but I believe that the differences in wire are because of Impedance, Capacitance and Resistance. I have some MilSpec Silver clad wire i have been wanting to try out, but I need to use a lot of wires connected together to get up to 12 gauge...from 20gauge. LOL

The OEM Klipschorn is very good, but it has always bothered me that the K-400/401 mid horn is mounted on the backside of the motorboard. The shape of the flange on the K-400 makes it difficult to mount on the front of the board, so I just have to use a newer style horn

Which horn, the OEM or the aftermarket replacement? What do you find irritating, the sound or the appearance?

The Sound ...

Well, "horny"

The JBL 2360 sound fantastic with the KH But my room is too small for the throw

They are part of the garage stereo now My neighbors may enjoy them also 😆😆😆

Yes, some mid horns can be too powerful for a small room. Part of the fun about this hobby is trying out different loudspeakers, amps and room treatments, etc., to discover the audio system that sounds really good to you.
