kevinf1990
Hi guys. It seems like I have gotten unlucky (or lucky) with my speaker purchase this weekend. I went to Frys to purchase 2 RP-260F speakers. Upon opening one of the two speakers, I found out that there were no holes drilled for mounting the base. Is it safe to measure the holes from the other speaker and drill small holes in order to mount the base. Please see attached picture. Should I return it? Ceptorman
I think it would okay to put in pilot holes, just match the other speaker. Did the speaker at least come with all the mounting hardware? Some might say take them back, or call Klipsch, but if you're confident with drilling them, go for it. PS.....did you get a new helmet? kevinf1990
I saw a couple of other imperfections on the speaker so I am going to take it back to the store (Frys). No it's not a new helmet, just left the box there. I see you ride as well.
Kman
weird. quality control issue I would think from factory. you are right to return it. I would think drilling any holes would void warranty.
xo705cf
That seems odd to me how they were packaged when I bought my 280s the bottoms were attached already when I opened the box... Were they in thethe original boxes with original packaging...?
kevinf1990
Yeah i watched a couple of unboxing videos of the speaker and it seems that some people took the speakers out of the box with the base attached. Mine was separated with the base in a separate box.
