RF-7 III or RP-280F and choice of 1 or 2 Subs

The biggest problem in my opinion is impedance dips with the RF-7 series.  Run them full range, put on a bass heavy concert blu ray, crank it up, and an AVR can run out of juice pretty easily.

Don't run them as full range, cross the lower notes to a sub and you shouldn't have this problem with an AVR that handles those impedance dips. {EDIT: It's been reported that the newer series RF-7IIIs don't have the same problem the originals had with it going down below 3 Ohms at a couple of frequencies}

Well I just got back from a 430 mile round trip the other day and thanks to a fellow member on here ( S2WHEELS ) I am now the proud owner of a pair of RP-280Fs, RP-450C and a R-112SW. So now I have my front stage and it's time to work on what Klipsch sides rears and ceiling speakers I will run.

Currently I'm running RF-7 classics, with the RC-7, sw-115, a denon x4400h and a Sony TA-N9000es.

But, I'm about to make the jump to the RF-7IIIs with the RC-64 III. Also I have the RP-280FA setup which sounds great in my living room, but I want the iii's for my theater.

gotta admit, I'm nervous because it's sooo much money! But, I can't wait :)

Welcome, I'm not sure where you're located, but there'e a forum member that's also a Klipsch dealer, great service and prices. Cory or Steven at Paducah Home Theater.

The RF7lll/RC64lll combo is wonderful.

I know I'm late to the game, but for a dedicated home theater I say spend the money on a decent center and decent subs!  If you are going to use it as a music system as well, then you need respectable left and right mains as well, but not necessarily huge ones as you will still have the subs filling in the low end.    I don't recommend skimping on the surrounds, but no need to use massive tower speakers as some people swear by! (Unless you have a gigantic room!)
