Yea, like the chunky looks and the aluminum's? finish!

Having a separate PSU is always better in audio components too!

not necessarily , if the transformer is excellent encapsulated, a seperate psu is not necessary ( mine Marantz SA11-S3  Elna Silmic II & Master Reference Quartz Clock modded )

interesting .....

  • The Philips CD-960 is largely identical in construction to the Marantz CD-94, CD-95, CD-99, CD-12, the Philips LHH-1000, the Micro Seiki CD-M2, CD-M100, CD-M2000X, and the Wadia WT-3200, and ran off the assembly lines of the Marantz manufacturing facilities in Japan along with them.

The CD-960 is the most expensive CD player ever sold by Philips. The massive chassis is made of die-cast zinc, the power supply is more likely to be found in a mid-range integrated amplifier today, and two icons tower above it all - the indestructible Philips CDM1 turntable, also made of die-cast zinc and with glass lenses by Rodenstock, and probably the most musical digital/analogue converter ever, the Philips TDA1541.

and a beauty as well

I hope you only stored it so well that you can find it again, so that you don't have the same problem as I had with the Revox board.

Yes it’s easily accessible anytime I need to find it

I will be selling a lot of my access components progressively over the next year or two

Then decide if I should downsize the main system, as we are planning to move to a lifestyle unit complex

Need to check if it will fit first then decide?
