Unless you are a carpet-muncher, I wouldn’t worry about chemicals too much;)

One thing I would highly recommend, for everyone is a quality air purifier on each and every level of their home. We are exposed to far too much exhausts, dust, vapors, gases etc. While air purifiers don’t necessarily take care of all of those mentioned, they definitely help.

It would be nice if they made one for my dogs butt.

And btw, wool carpet sucks and we stopped selling it.......way over rated!

A friend of mine works at the Shaw engineered wood flooring plant in South Pittsburg, TN. They make amazing stuff.

Still looking and browsing.

This 'Air.o' carpet from Mohawk has a felt pad that is integrated into the underside. No cushion or pad needed on the sub floor because it's already there:

The salesperson said it's perfect for concrete basements. It allows moisture to wick through (you can even shop vac water through it), no nailing, stapling or tack strip needed, no VOCs means no harmful gas emissions, latex free and hypoallergenic, 100% recyclable.
