bmassy
What does everyone set their AVR that upscales video quality to? I know this will vary based on receiver so I ask you to tell us your AVR make & model along with your TV make & model. I think this may be beneficial to some people?? My setup:AVR: Pioneer Elite SC-91 set to PURE (no upscaling)TV: Sony 65A1ECables: all Audioquest Cinnamon HDMI's I previously had my AVR to upscale and super res setting +3 then I decided to try it without. What I've noticed is that certain films/shows motion is a lot better/smoother. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

AVR companies just focus on sound so I'm not too sure how well their upscale capabilites would be compared to a TVs. And I'm not surprised that it could negatively impact picture quality. wuzzzer
That would make sense to me. Tvs are all about video. Some receivers have ok video processing but it isn't their main focus. I'd prefer my tv to handle that department.
