zelgall
Anyone one have an idea of why the RP series have angled / sloped bases? I don't think it's time aligning because of the very slight difference in position. Also, it doesn't seem to affect lobing. The boxes are too high for aiming the HF drivers at the listener. Is it just cosmetic? I picked up a used pair of RP-280s a couple of months ago and have been asked a few times without being able to provide a reasonable answer. Thanks.. Moderators Youthman Posted December 4, 2018 Moderators Share Posted December 4, 2018 I asked Klipsch the same question when I reviewed the RF7 III and I was told it was just cosmetic.
zelgall
Thanks. I have been thinking about having some shaped metal plates cut and tapping them for spikes to use instead of the sloped bases. Nice to know that it won't have a negative effect.
