Crites titanium diaphragms for K79 tweeters

As some of you know, I’m very sensitive to tweeters :)  Even as an old guy who can’t hear much beyond 12k, for some reason an otherwise great speaker sounds bad to my ear if the tweeter is mediocre.

I’m putting my Cornwalls back together from ESS experimentation and decided to try the Crites Titanium replacement diaphragms for the K79s in my CWII. Wow!

They totally transformed my tweeters and made the sound very, very good.

My original diaphragms measured fine but the Crites are so much more detailed and smooth at the same time. Don’t hesitate if you’re sitting on the fence.

I've put titanium tweeters in my forte II, Chorus I, Heresy II and Academy speakers.  All have been improvements to my ears.

Has Klipsch ever tried titanium drivers for the tweeter and midrange of speakers like the LaScala and Klipschorn?

I find it amazing how much of a game-changer a tweeter improvement is.
If you guys want a tweeter upgrade, go with the K-79 MAHL/ B&C driver. There is a thread in the Technical section here describing these.

I've had titanium tweeter diaphragms in my KLF-30's for years now and thought they were just fine until I installed these new tweeters from Dave A here on the forum.

What did you do with the ferrofluid in your k79k's?

Clean the slot out somehow?  If so what did you use?

Just drop in the new TI's?

Clean out and replace the ferrofluid?

Any idea of the oil used by Klipsch for the carrier of the iron particles?

I cleaned the magnet but there wasn’t really any ferrofluid in mine.
