Frzninvt
Not an upgrade more like a lateral move. Same design just newer entry level parts.

Skelt
Not an upgrade? The op doesn't feel that way. Nor did I when I did the same a few years ago.

I would say it more like this: "Not an upgrade more like a lateral move. Same design just new 'updated' parts" JMHO
jjptkd
Considering the new parts are unquestionably better (higher quality) than the originals I think it's fair to call the Crites refurb an "upgrade."
billybob
Let's just call it...done.

LOL, I hear you. When I had my crossovers redid, they got even better as the electronics settled in over a little playtime. Welcome to the Klipsch forum, BTW...around here words can get in the way......sometime.
Jive talkin
Thanks billyBob I have a little time now to devote to my listening again and I know I will learn a lot from all the great people here.
Deang
Technically an upgrade. Polyester capacitors to polypropylene, and the new autotransformer is certainly an improvement (bifilar wound).

Jive talkin
Changed the diaphragms in my tweeters to titanium’s from Crites sound a little bold. Question is has anyone tried the diaphragms from s s audio? Or contrary to what I read will the titanium ease up a bit? Oh forte 1 speakers
Frzninvt
Titanium diaphrams have always sounded harsh and edgy to me, it won't change with break in. Phenolic or silk will be far smoother.
