12 step audio program

Ok, so I might have a problem, step 1

1.  Admitting I have a problem

2.  Convincing my wife that I don't have a problem.

3.  Hiding my problem from others

4.  Being at peace with my problem

5.  Understanding that others have the same problem

6.  Not buying any more equipment until my projects are complete

7.  Ignoring #6, because it was on sale

8.  Hating this and other audio forums

9.  Secretly, staying on the forums

10.  Telling m.y wife and others that I don't do audio forums anymore

11.  Hiding a laptop in the closet

12.  Not caring if I have a problem or if my wife is mad about my non problem and cranking the tunes up

I had no clue how much crap (stuff) I had, until I started putting my test room back together.  All of you are a bad influence, and the picture captures about 50% of the pieces and parts I have laying around that have been purchased for various projects.

This all started about 10 years ago when I decided to get back into music and purchased a used set of RF7's, joined this forum, went to Hope, met Carl, drank martinis and here I am.

Tell your story, you are not alone.

I don't see a problem at all...

1.  Entire old system shoved in a corner.

2.  New PL integrated up and running

3.  81 RB that I've always loved purchased  :)

4.  Deang modded networks.

5. Crites tweeters installed.

6.  Have a new LONG phillips screwdriver for replacing said tweeters.

7.  Picked up a pair of very minty 81 Heresy in OW.

8.  Bought a Schiit headphone amp & a pair of Sennheiser 650's.

9.  Two adjoining rooms need painted.

10. New Levelor that's now 5 years old laying in box waiting to go up.

11.  Found a pair of Marantz electrostatic headphones I knew I had somewhere.  Nummy.

12.  Have found out how expensive was to have an ex.

13. Intervention needed?

14.  Ha...

😂😎

At least now I have a space to work on some of these projects.  The 250's are going to a friend when I'm done with the crossovers and replacing the diaphragms.  One of the RB5's has an issue that I need to get fixed (crossover), the C2's are getting the crossovers rebuilt and diaphragms replaced in them, I have to bring the split 3 way cornscala's in and finish those and then cut the boxes for the 2 way cornscala that I'm doing and then I'm done for a bit and should have reduced the parts inventory a reasonable amount.

Perfect. Congratulations on ten years here Pete!

Thanks!  12.23.2008 is when I joined, but didn't catch where it was going to cost $10,000+ to be a member, and that's only a number I'm willing to put down just in case Denise joins the forum.  LOL

She already knows.....

Yes Jim, she has an idea and there have been many eye rolls in the past 8 years and when she walks in from Pittsburgh today and sees that I've reclaimed part of the basement for projects by moving a lot of her stuff, it will be more than a rolling of the eyes, but fortunately, she doesn't ever go in the shop and uncover the other items that are out there.   Big Blue playing today so Go Blue!

From 2012 during my 'must hear every KG model' madness. I don't have a picture of the shelves with amps, receivers, etc to the right. Probably for good reason.

This pic was taken before my wife said, "Why have all this sitting down here? Set up some more systems around the house."

She's awesome.

Big floorstanders are mostly what I have these days. The buying/selling has slowed down a lot in the last couple years. Been in control of it, I think.

I did the same thing with RF's, RB's and RP's and it's an addiction, but I've learned to control it better.  Buying was the easy part, selling them after they were in my possession was tough and I still regret about everything I sold, but the nightmares have stopped.  LMAO😁

I do not think you have a problem at all. You have several SOLUTIONS, however.
