Exceptional Opportunity

Just got the seller’s number and sent him a text.  Plan to take my Wiener TPA3118 and Pono player to audition these Saturday or Sunday.

To be clear, no matter how impressed, I have no space for these and do not want them to keep and use.  That said, if someone here wants them, I’m willing to buy them for $500, or less, and store them temporarily while the new owner makes arrangements to ship them, or to collect them in Southeast Michigan.

For an audition?

That unfortunate name for this excellent class D board was chosen by its maker, gmarsh, on the diyaudio forum.  I heard that someone tried to challenge the name choice, but it didn’t stand up in court,

Ask Rich, @rhing, if you don’t believe me.

It appears as though, all told, the speaker connectors occupy considerably more volume than the board itself.  How can it possibly be any good?  :)

If you think the TPA3118 board is small, which it is, get a load of my 7297.  It’s that tiny board in the upper left corner of the pine square just to the left of the boombox.  @rhing got me into these chip amps.

Are these a bass reflex box along the lines of a Cornwall?

Not at all. Modified Helmholtz resonator. More efficient..99db/1w/1m. Good to 25 hz. Amazing speakers. I know of no others than can match them pound for pound, and none remotely near what these can be had for.  While they turn up more than Elevens...which are scarce as hen't teeth, they are pretty rare, especially in this condition and at this price.

It's that dry, mid-west humor.

He meant he's going to take that, and his mini-amp, then see what comes up.

Yep. Well over 200lbs. each and I had to hire two young men to get them up the stairs. About the size of a single door refrigerator.

So, I’m probably wrong to think they would fit in a Ford Edge.

I think Dave was referring to the 11's.

Yep.  That was the first time I had heard a pair of Fraziers.  Actually I think you had a pair of the smaller ones hanging on your patio didn't you?

Elevens wouldn't, and that is what Carl and I were talking about. I had to rent a trailer for those, and I had a large minivan at the time. Don't know how big that car is, but these should fit in most vehicles. Here's the spec sheet.

Yes. I am using them at my Cossator River property now to provide adequate calliope music for the cabins about a half mile away...

You should come a day or so early to Pilgrimage this year and we could spend a night or two there. Go straight from there to Hope...less than two hours.
