CraigB
I recently ordered a Klipsch R-120SW Subwoofer however I didn't really pay attention to the input. Today, planning for the installation I just noticed the input is "Line Level". My AVR is Denon AVR-S740H which only has a Pre-Out for Subwoofers. Do I need to cancel my order or is there a way to make this work without adding another amp, hopefully?
Khornukopia
You will be fine. Connect a single subwoofer cable from the subwoofer 1 pre-out over to the R-120SW line in RCA jack labeled LFE. Then run the Audyssey set-up process and let the Denon adjust the subwoofer settings. The R-120SW has its own amplifier. 1
CraigB
Thanks Khornukopia! The picture of the back of the sub didn't show the LFE label. Crisis averted! Thanks again!
JohnA
Yeah, Pre-out *is* line level, meaning less than about 2 volts.
MC39693
And, just for fun, note you have 2 sub out ports ... hence twice the fun if you get a second sub! There's lots of discussion on the forums for sub(s), have fun and enjoy!
