CHASLS2
My right speaker went dead. Switched speakers and cables so it is not the speakers or cable. I wonder if i lost the right channel on my Acrus 3x 200 amp? I guess they can go out? Or i wonder if the pre out on the AVR went bad? Shiva
According to the manual in the link, your amp has 6 internal fuses. More than likely one or two have blown. Unplug it, let it sit for a time so that the capacitors have drained any charge, open it up and have a look see. https://www.manualslib.com/manual/647030/Mondial-Designs-Limited-Acurus-200x3.html?page=2#manual
CHASLS2
Got a new sub and ran a recal and the right speaker was dead. So i wonder how long it has been out as i sure never noticed it was not working.
CHASLS2
Just hooked the speakers back up to the AVR and can't really hear a change from the amp. Not the type to tear into stuff like this and not sure what i will do with the amp. Don't know of anyone that works on them.

By the time i paid shipping both ways and for the work i just as well throw it out and buy something else or sell it cheap local. I really don't think i need that amp with my Paradigm Studio 60V5's. My Pioneer Elite SC61 seems to be just as good as the amp was. If i can find a local place to work on it then maybe i will fix it.

I get it, cost effectiveness. If you decide to sell let me know. 11 hours ago, CHASLS2 said: 15 hours ago, willland said: I hope that is a local shop. Moderators Youthman Posted February 2, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2019 Thanks @willland. @CHASLS2, I used Jersey Jims in Clearwater to fix my Sherbourn amp when I had two channels that went bad. https://www.jerseyjimtowersfl.com/ 727-536-2232 Hope that helps, Michael

Shiva
When I had a Rotel amp, one of the 2 channels went quiet. I read that it had fuses inside. took a screw driver to the 8 screws and took off the top. Inside, there were 2 fuses for each channel. pried the two off from the dead channel and saw that one was blown. Took it to Radio Shack, when it still existed, showed it to the guy, and he found the exact replacement. I think it cost a dollar. Popped the new fuse in and it worked fine ever after. It was my first amp fix and as of yet, my last. I found a pic of the inside of an Acurus A250, with the top off. If you zoom in a bit you will see the fuses on each side for the two channels. Of course, I'm not saying there can't be other underlying issues, but it might be worth a try, for fun.

Moderators Youthman Posted February 2, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 2, 2019 @CHASLS2 Hey Charles, how much are you wanting for it? I have a friend in Alabama that has always wondered if a power amp would improve his front sound stage (although his room sounds amazing). I would have to ship it to him. Shoot me a PM or send me a text. Michael
CHASLS2
I don't know how to PM you. Send me a PM. Not sure what to ask for it as i don't know what is wrong with it. I knew we traded amps back in 2013.

Moderators Youthman Posted February 3, 2019 Moderators Share Posted February 3, 2019 Thanks Charles. See you tomorrow morning. Hopefully @WakeJunkie can figure out what is wrong with the channel and get it working. He's always wondered if his system would benefit from a dedicated amp.
