JRH
These are very early units, probably prior to 1960. They are the 112th and 113th made. The "b" suffix in the model number may mean they are the "starter model" which came with no midrange or tweeter, just a 12" woofer with whizzer cone. While that would make them "rarer" than most, obviously the performance is a step down. I can look them up on Monday.
Craigstanly
serial # is 212 and 213 not 112 and 113.. Thanks a million!

JohnA
I'd say buy them! Esp at $550 in excellent condition. HWR means Heresy, walnut, raw. They should be finished in they aren't already.

Craigstanly
just noticed that each cabinet is loaded with different speakers. one has a K 55 and the other looks to have a woofer K 22 and a horn? they are sequential serial #s so I think that's how they came from the factory. JRH
212 and 213 were shipped 17Feb1961. They are the 112th and 113th units shipped, since serial numbers began with 101. The driver complements were the same when shipped, and included the K-22 woofer. If they now differ, it had to be an update or repair. "New style" is noted in the logbook. I believe this means they no longer have the grill cloth on the sides of the cabinets. If that is incorrect, please let me know.

jimjimbo
Those look great. Just be careful with the grills as they can be quite fragile. I would use a modestly powered vacuum with a soft brush attachment to clean them. Congrats on a great buy!
Craigstanly
now that I have them should I use them? they are 16 ohm and bob crites says that i wound not be able to find replacement parts for them (mid range, woofer, tweeters) and they sound great but he also said the caps being this old are no longer good.. should I have him make me some new ones? should I just run them.. again they sound amazing
