That works; I tried it.

Actually, you could take the whole Klipschorn and run it like a stage monitor on the floor up against the wall.  The slanted ceiling might play into it.

I'm thinking about building HD false corners to put in my existing corners.   I built my basement room with corners 16ft apart specially just for my Khorns.   If I don't use my THT sub I'm still not happy with the bass.   I feel like the sheet rock walls are too thin and flimsy to project the bass forward and just absorb the sound, its also a carpeted concrete floor which doesn't transmit the sensation of low frequency through the floor.    Do you guys think adding false corners as described in the Dope from Hope would give me a substantial improvement or would enclosing them like a Khorn TSCM is better?

Thanks

I enclosed my K-Horns several years ago. I have tried different positions, not in corners, etc. I still get the best sound by far when they are in corners. Just saying that enclosing the bass bins is not a cure all, but it will help some.

Actually, much more useable now. And easily reversable if I ever want to.

You did it wrong, but you probably don't want to hear that.

Think where the wall would be in relation to the horn exit.

Right, I get that, I'll give up the 1/2 inch that going on the outside of the tophat edge would have given. I lost alot more the way they had to be positioned before enclosing them. They sound fine for now. Its a small room.  Wanted to keep the side walls in line with the grills. So, I went tailboard outside edge to even with the grill.  From the front, you can't see the mod. That was the goal. Thanks for the input.

That's a reasonable argument. Khorns sound mediocre in a small room if you can't turn them out.

Modify the speakers to fit the room... 👏

Here OP, its a bit more complicated.

I talked to Greg, certainly he does some nice work. I plan to look at his stuff at Axpona next month. Fact remains,  my mod is fine for my purposes. Kind of like cars, some people require numbers matching all original. Others, not so much. I have both. In the end do what makes you happy. I like my Khorns.

That IS the perfect analogy.

They are your speakers after all... Just enjoy them.
