Mighty Favog
Sorry, no, not a musician or singer...but a painter. This picture hung in our living room for eons but through a couple of moves was lost. Obviously it's not worth much but it does rank up there in sentimentality. Just throwing this out there if anyone knows who did it so I may find another one. THX!! oldtimer
It should be easy to find an artist who erases faces... Seriously though, have you tried cropping to just the painting and putting into the google image search?
Schu
I have no idea... it could be any of a thousand Impressionists...

Schu
https://www.toperfect.com/Summers-End-MO-impressionism.html looks like, "summers end", is a really popular title.
Bosco-d-gama
Hmmmm really a long shot that this will be recognized. I can think of similar art in my grandparents home. But - I’d wager that there’s a digital ‘app’ that might be able to identify it from a scan...... and I know very little about such technology. Perhaps one of our more digitally savvy members knows of an app?
oldtimer
It is almost certainly mid-20th century impressionist, whether by a known artist or perhaps an obscure imitator.
JJkizak
Take the picture out of the frame and see if there is a signature exposed. JJK

Schu
You could easily commission someone to paint you a copy if you are not particular about it. There are MANY artists that do this regularly
windashine
http://www.swgallery.com/list-of-artists here's a list from a southwestern gallery... I have a W A Slaughter painting (he's a deceased Texas Artist)… however, just clicking on some of the artist's, will give you a yep or a nope... or it might revive a memory perhaps, where it came from, and you could narrow your searches down... even though the painting that I have, is exquisite... it shocked me to see that many 0's on some of his one's that have sold.... I value a canvas I got from the mall at Spenser's Gifts, back in the 70's, as being irreplaceable, and no one hide's their feelings when they come over.... like, wtf is that lol... I mean... it's not a velvet elvis or dog's playing poker, but a picture of the Grand Tetons, that was painted by some starving art students maybe... but it reminds me of a pbn my Grandfather made
Moderators dtel Posted March 11, 2019 Moderators Share Posted March 11, 2019 Almost looks similar, this pic is what it would look like much later after the trees grew up.
