Just chillin' out with some Russian music...

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure where I learned to translate Russian but I actually understood all the lyrics!

They're very good, wonder if they do more from Chicago's catalog?

* Yep they do a lot!

Do you remember Redwave? It was a big influence on me. This girl went to Russia in the 80's and smuggled Russian punk, new wave, and rock. I have the double lp set somehere. It is such a cool story.

So, really impressed with this bunch of folks, they've played here a bit the last couple of years before I heard of them from this thread. They've got one cd out at discogs closest country shipped from is CA, had trouble once... I've got youtube.

So the singer that looks like he'd sing country is pretty good too, it's not just the short haired singer. Then the older guy with the hippie hair... listen to him here with the pianist. I'd bet he could sing the entire Holy Diver LP and sound exactly like R J Dio!

Fantastic Musicians All!

Here's a nice overview of the group.  I didn't know the female singer was a finalist on The Voice.  She can really sing. (in seven languages!)

I bought the Leonid & Friends album in download form last year, and I’m pretty happy with it.  It’s called Chicagovich, not too surprisingly, and sounds quite good, much better than the songs sound on YouTube, of course.

For me, the only disappointment was that I’m a Man wasn’t on it, since they do a good cover of the Chicago version of that old Spencer Davis song.

I like Russian Classical Music, Tchaikovsky, Peter & the Wolf, Lieutenant Kije Suite, et Cetera...

Also 1812 Overture, not Russian, but with Russian history...

@wvu80

Thank You for this.... This cured the Pissy mood I was in this past Tuesday. I had forgotten how much I enjoy Chicago Music..

My Tuesday work day was most productive jamming to these guys 😊
