Don't know what you're using for an amplifier, but for example some of the NAD stuff anyway inverts one channel so the draw on the supply rails goes opposite directions and the output of the inverted channel is reverted at the speaker connectors.  Thus, the "grounds" are not common (one is actually the "hot" electrically) and a speaker switch box that uses a common ground throughout will not work on such equipment, not at all.  (Well, it might, if care was taken, I suppose...)

I have a McIntosh MC2105 Solid State power amp, 105wpc but my La Scalas do not need 105wpc as they are SO efficient.
