Mighty Favog
For whatever reason or utility you want. Is one heavier duty than the other? Does one sound better for your preference/genre of music? If one more suited for critical listening vs. live venues? Let's hear it!

jimjimbo
Depends on what's for sale, when, where, and for how much. The V dual phase plug is better than the V single phase plug and the M in modest terms, but I have to agree with Snarky, the A55G bests them all.
Mighty Favog
I don't plan on buying either or any for that matter. I was just looking for opinions between these two only.

OK, well, there is the V single phase, the V dual phase, and the M. So, there are 3. Read my previous comment about modest difference, but I personally prefer the V dual phase of the group, for all applications.
moray james
the diaphragm of the "M" no longer exist so there is that to consider.
wuzzzer
Of those the only experience I have is with the dual phase plug soldered lug K-55-Vs in my 1983 Heresy speakers. To my ears they sound better than any other 3 way Klipsch I've owned: Quartet, forte I and II, KLF-30 and Chorus I.
wvu80
The V has a "hole" or dip in the frequency response between 4500 Hz and 6000 Hz. The M has filled that hole and is smooth all the way to 6000 Hz. Supposedly you can't hear it. I couldn't hear it. I have heard pink noise from each driver and there is a difference in the sound, one is darker, I forget which one. I would not say one is better over the other this way. Both mid drivers cost about the same on the used market, both are fairly easy to find. Given a choice, I would use the M.
Max2
I wouldn't want to be the one to have to listen and distinguish the difference of any of them.
