Sammy81 Posted May 26, 2019 Posted May 26, 2019 Hello! So the Klipsch R112SW is on sale at $399 and I am looking for a good 12 inch sub for my system, however I have heard that the amp gives out after a few months and I is faulty. So My question is should I take a chance with the R-112SW or go with the R-120SW or the older version R-12SW? 112sw has a max 600W amp while the other two have a 400W amp. A bit new to this stuff so any help would be appreciated. Thanks! Quote
Anirban Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 I have had the R-112SW for little more than a year now and works fine. I just added another one since its on sale right now. Hoping they last long. I really treat them well and stay within limits Sometimes I do touch the amp panel and check the temperature, I don't find them hot at all and nothing that should melt the glue inside (Black goo of death) Quote
Anirban Posted August 29, 2019 Posted August 29, 2019 I had raised a support request with Klipsch and got a reply yesterday. They stated all is well with the current batches of R-112SW. They did see widespread issue with the initial batches and they took corrective measure and fixed the successive batches. Quote
