Charcoal bricks or pellets should be about the same price as the other acoustic absorber raw materials, but more combustible. I prefer fire-proof ROXUL mineral wool and Owens-Corning rigid fiberglass to absorb the lowest frequencies.

 

@Rudy81 , You mentioned your choice of the denim fill on this project because you don't want fiberglass, which I understand, but all of my bass trap materials are inside sealed plastic bags, so I think they are environmentally inert.
