Very nice looking set of Cornwall's.  $1500 is on the "high side," but if perfect they might be worth it :D  Have a set myself ... awesome speakers :)  On a side note; due to their age you may have to replace the capacitors.  And, upgrade to Bob Crites' titanium diaphragms ... you'll love it :D

Cheers, Emile

Just for reference, I bought my CW 1's WO with cane grills in a solid 9/10 condition for $1,050 also in Barrington (Chicagoland) area.

@Mighty Favog how recently? Also did you replace the caps and upgrade the tweeters per @Emile suggestion with Bob Crites? Just trying to scope out the cost of doing that... @Emile  maybe you can weigh in here?

It was about 10-years ago and I drove from SW Ohio to get them. I did, later replace the tweeters but ordered all new networks. I didn't include that in the price I quoted above.

Remember, the extra cost of the factory veneer and the cane grill option added to the cost of mine.

Bought new Xover boards from Bob Crites ... about $250 if I recall. Just replacing the caps is a lot cheaper ... think it's about $60.  But ... did not hear a difference with the new boards ... guess it is not always necessary :D

If anything you extended their life by over 20-years having not to replace them later.
