History of industrial La Scala speakers.

I have a pair of industrial La Scala speakers, and was wondering about the history of this particular model of La Scala.  When were they first produced, and how many were manufactured?  I rarely see any being sold...I know I'll never part with mine, but I'm curious about how rare they are.  Any information would be appreciated.

Let's see if @jimjimbo knows.  He's owned a few.

 

They aren't real popular because of their industrial look but a lot of people including me love that look.  I've always liked the aluminum trim.  They sell for an average of around $932 in Good condition, $840 for Average or Below Average.

 

You might try searching old threads but the search feature is not the greatest.  The La Scala is hard to search anyway because even people who own them spell them all different ways, and when you add LSI, or La Scala Industrial there's no telling what's out there.

Not terribly rare.  I have access to no other records.
