Went to the can, fell asleep, and what the hell, there's a whole new page of comments.

But the monkey's not watching
He's slipped out to the kitchen
To pile the dishes
And answer the phone

We're waiting to succeed and going to convene outside Brixton
Town Hall where we're going to be
Waiting to cut out the deadwood
Waiting to clean up the city
Waiting to follow the worms
Waiting to put on a black shirt
Waiting to weed out the weaklings
Waiting to smash in their windows
And kick in their doors
Waiting for the final solution
To strengthen the strain
Waiting to follow the worms
Waiting to turn on the showers
And fire the ovens
Waiting for the queens and the coons
And the reds and the Jews
Waiting to follow the worms

With the thread of Gilmour selling all those guitars kinda sparked it. Im very bias toward Waters.... but the amazing that is Gilmour cant be ignored.

When my wife and I go out to dinner

Would you like something to eat?
Would you like to learn to fly?
Would'ya?
Would you like to see me try?
Would you like to call the cops?
Do you think it's time I stopped?
Why are you running away?

That's some strong music, but it's too depressing for me.  Maybe it would have seemed entertaining to a teen or young adult, but as you get older and realize how real these tragic events actually are, you find you've had enough from the TV and radio news.

I see your point. And agree....

I don't know the best way to describe it. The message it self I don't really focus on. Just like with movies its entreatment. I know the message is serious to Waters and to some bands like a death metal band singing of killing and other terrible things (cannibal corpse as example) it isn't.

Its the emotion that his pain, and aggression creates. Like a Keith Whitley in don't close your eyes does (not much into country but a few songs I like).

It was epic. I'm sure we'll be talking about it thirty years from

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you.
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun.
So you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again.
The sun is the same in a relative way but you're older,
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death.

Has anyone seen Nick Mason's band Saucerful of Secrets? They play the older and not often heard Pink Floyd songs. https://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/8482606/pink-floyd-drummer-nick-mason-plans-2019-us-tour

About the only song I really like from pink floyd pre DSOTM is Free Four.

A few songs have small moments that are good. But Pink Floyd themselves are quoted many times saying that "DSOTM was the first album that we all looked at each other and knew we finally made something good".
