vwittke
Help needed, can someone identify the drive unit on the attached picture? It was sold on Ebay as an original Belle-Klipsch Driver. It looks like an atlas product, but is much deeper as every K55V i have seen. It has an alnico magnet, 16Ohms, phenolic membran, no phase plug and no signs of type or manufacturer on it. The only mark is "REFLEX DRIVER". On a K400 it is very linear from 300 to 3200 HZ and drops like a stone above that. Thanks to everyone, Volker
Malcolm
I don't think the driver pictured was ever used by Klipsch in the Belle. Belle production started in 1971. Klipsch was using the K55V for midrange at that time.
djk
Looks like an off-shore copy of the University SAHF, the original Klipschorn midrange driver. I've bought drivers that look like this from MCM, they're no where as good as a real SAHF.
k2dx
Looks like a SAHF University driver, as used in early khorns. Should be a nice sounding driver if it is.... University logo and nomenclature was usually a decal on the rear...may be gone now. The L1 and L2 markings are the same as a SAHF.... djk
http://www.hifilit.com/hifilit/University/1952-1.jpg As you can see, it only slightly resembles a real SAHF.
